Trip to the beach, and Wii Fit!

Today Jake and I went out on a another full day date. We decided to go around town and just find things to do. So, first we decided to go to the beach and just enjoy the sites around it. The water looked beautiful (in the clean parts at least).

On our way to a play ground so we could play on the swings, two little girls ran out from behind us and stole them away from us. We didn’t complain and sat on the bench not to far away to wait. When they got off to go play on the climber we took the swings and began to swing away. From the climber we could overhear one of the girls say to the other:
“Oh. My. God. Look at those parents on the swings!”
“They’re really young to be parents, my parents have grey hair.”
“Only one of my parents have grey hair.”
Jake and I laughed and he turned to me and said, “Where are our kids, shouldn’t we be watching them? We’re awful parents.”

Later, we decided to go shopping and we encountered an annoying Electronic Boutique salesman who knew absolutely nothing. I asked the man if he had any Wii Fit’s in stock. His response was “Nope, we sold out the second we got them, and always do. You can find them anywhere in the city.”

Then, Jake asked to reserve Soul Caliber 4, and the guy stared at him blankly, said “Um, okay. Just a moment.” Then he proceeded to go back and forth on his two computers for ten minutes, then off to the back room for another five, then came back and continued to not say anything to us and just stared at the computers. So, we left.

Of all places, we went to Walmart, and they had tons of them. So now, I’m a proud owner of a Wii Fit!

Being “Twinsies” and watching Hair Spray, what a perfect date.

After writing yesterday I ended up going over to my boyfriends house, and it ended up being a really fun night in.

It started with him picking me up at my house. When he pulled into the driveway the first thing I noticed was that he was wearing a fluorescent yellow shirt, (I’m sure anyone on the road could have noticed his shirt from a mile away) that happened to be almost identical in colour to the yellow and white stripped sweater I was currently wearing.

Our conversation went a little something like this…

Eva: I can’t get into the car until you change.
Jake: How come?
Eva: Because you copied what I’m wearing. Your yellow is the exact same as my yellow.
Jake:You know that you’re the one who copied me. I slept in this shirt, you can go back inside and change, or come in the car and be twinsies with me.

So I chose to be “twinsies” with him. We then headed to a convenience store by his house to pick up some milk, where the owner remarked on our matching attire, and Jake proudly announced to him that we were, in fact, “twinsies”. The man only looked at as mildly confused and wished us to have a good day.

At his house Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix was almost over, so we watched it. Then Hair Spray came on, which Jake had yet to see. I declared that Hair Spray would be what we’d be watching and Jake pouted and complained until it started; and he absolutely loved it. By the end we were both dancing around to “You can’t stop the beat”.

On the way home the new, New Kids On The Block song came on the radio. I was lucky enough to be born in the nineties, so I didn’t have the privilege of listening to their lyrical genius. Jake on the other hand, has several older siblings who were all born in the eighties, so he had a vague idea of what to expect. Lo and behold somehow we ended up driving down the busiest street in town with whatever that song was called blasting on the radio and waving to those we passed by. Good times.

Although to some, that night not have been an exceptionally exciting or fun(ny), for me it was a great time. Hopefully my embarrassment for listening to New Kids On The Block will wear off soon.
